We are pleased to announce that we are opening a new office to server the Northern Santa Barbara County: Santa Maria, Lompoc, Orcutt, Guadalupe, Santa Ynez, Buellton and more.

We will be located at 221 Town Center West, Santa Maria, CA in the old Mervyn’s Shopping Center by Rite Aid and Big 5 Sporting Goods. We will be opening on October 1, 2012 and hours will be Monday-Thursday 10-6 and Friday 10-5. Saturday will be by appointment.

Promissory Note and Deed of Trust

Today, I had a customer who purchased a house for her son and daughter-in-law. The purchase price was $330,800. In order to secure her interest in the house, she had me prepare a Promissory Note and Deed of Trust. This way she has a contract with her son and daughter-in-law to pay the mortgage, but it protects her interest in case for some reason they cannot pay the loan. Many parents do a similar thing not choose to have their kids enter an agreement to repay and secure it with a Deed of Trust. This is a pretty simple process. Any questions, let us know.

Today I had the pleasure of helping a lady with a Trust Amendment in my Arroyo Grande/Grover Beach location. She had her Living Trust prepared YEARS ago by an attorney and found my service due to the high cost of attorneys. For a service fee of $85, I was able to quickly amend her Living Trust to change the beneficiaries to her home. She and her daughter were extremely happy with the service, which included my time, document preparation and Notary. Her daughter took a Living Trust/Estate Plan packet and is considering using my service.

To begin a divorce in the state of California, one spouse must file a Petition. The person who files the Petition is the “Petitioner.” The Divorce Petition must then be served.
